After 40 plus years of strategic and hands on Sales experience in the auto industry at dealerships, manufacturers (GM- Cadillac), and lenders (GMAC & Ally), I understand from start to finish how dealerships market and sell new and used vehicles. While I love the car business, I have always been frustrated with how inefficient the sales process remains. Why? Two reasons: (1) Car dealers price people, not products. When you ask a salesperson how much can I buy this car or truck for, they give you a squishy answer like, "well, if it's the right one for you, we'll make you a great deal." If you ask a salesperson at Best Buy or any other business how much something is, they tell you the price that everyone pays. That's why so many people start and then abruptly stop their car buying journey. (2) Car Buyers have no advocate. If you bought a $50,000 piece of property or house, you'd have a real estate agent and title company or real estate lawyer to oversee the transaction. BTW- all the "free info" you find online is paid for by manufacturers, dealers, lenders and/or insurers with advertising or lead generation, where a site gives you some free info then turns around and sells your name, # & email to a dealer or dealers.
That's why I founded Thornebriar, to advocate exclusively for the consumer as they undertake the most time consuming, complex, expensive, and too often, just plain unfair purchase experience ever. The solution, a comprehensive DIY Car Buyer's Gameplan that details an auto industry Pro's path to purchase. Plus, the data (profit margins) and tools – offer/deal calculators to verify dealer offers, email negotiating templates, and transaction specific New/Used, Purchase or Lease, deal checklists. Negotiate remotely to capture the home field advantage, then visit the dealership once your entire deal is done. It is the only way you should ever buy or lease a vehicle. Never again sit in a dealership for 2, 3, 4 hours or more. Remember, dealerships are like casinos, the longer you sit at their tables the more you spend and the house makes.
Welcome to Car Buying forever changed!
